Simple, yet elegant, these railroad spikes have found new life as fireplace tool holders. They were sourced from the 1901 Concord, Maynard & Hudson Street Railway during the removal of rails for the construction of the new rail trail. They have been cleaned of 115+ years of rust, and adapted for easy attachment into the mortar surrounding a fireplace.
